Ukraine-Russia War Update: Mongolia Declines to Arrest Putin During Visit as Kyiv’s Kursk Incursion Persists

 Vladimir Putin has not been detained after arriving in Mongolia for a two-day visit, despite Mongolia's membership in the International Criminal Court’s Rome Statute. 

Mongolia is legally obligated to arrest Putin and send him to The Hague due to an international arrest warrant for war crimes in Ukraine. However, the country, which relies heavily on Russia for economic stability, has not acted on this obligation.

Meanwhile, Ukraine's incursion into Russia’s Kursk region, now in its fifth week, continues. The Institute for the Study of War reports various claims of advances and retreats along the new frontline as Russian forces attempt to repel the offensive.

Although Kyiv is focusing its efforts on Kursk, Russia has intensified its attacks in eastern Ukraine this week. Kyiv’s military reported nearly 200 clashes along the frontline in just 24 hours, with Russian forces aiming to capture the key logistical hub of Pokrovsk.
