Who is Jenn Tran?

Jenn Tran is the star of ABC's "The Bachelorette." At 26, she is a "Bachelor" alumna and the first Asian American lead in the show's 22-year history.

According to her "Bachelorette" bio, "Jenn Tran is a kind-hearted and compassionate individual dedicated to helping others. The bilingual Vietnamese beauty lives in Miami and is looking for a partner who is as reliable and thoughtful as she is."

In an interview with USA TODAY, Tran expressed the significance of her role as the first Asian American bachelorette. She noted feeling "a lot of pressure" but also recognized the historic nature of her inclusion.

"It's a moment many have been anticipating," Tran said. "It’s meaningful because we are progressing towards change."

Tran, who is training to be a physician's assistant, also said that the role didn't come naturally to her, and she was afflicted by impostor syndrome.

“I just never saw myself as a main character before,” Tran said in the interview. But she now realizes, “The perfect bachelorette is just who you are to your core and being yourself."
